Feb. 6 (UPI) — Paramount+ announced the start of production Tuesday of Landman, a new series from Taylor Sheridan. Billy Bob Thornton stars. Sheridan, who has a deal with Paramount+, co-created the show with Christian Wallace. The show is filming in Fort Worth, Texas.
Landman is based on the podcast Boomtown. The drama depicts the battles between billionaires and roughnecks in the fields.
Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie and Paulina Chávez also star.
Sheridan created his Yellowstone spinoffs 1883 and 1923 for the streaming service. The final season of Yellowstone will conclude in November on Paramount Network.
Original series The Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Special Ops: Lioness are also for Paramount+.
